Lee Rue is a professional lighting consultant and designer with ten years of experience in
commercial and residential design. He worked several years as a product designer and engineer
after earning his BS in product design and engineering in 1987. He graduated with a MFA degree
in Interior Architecture and Design from Academy of Art College, San Francisco in 1998.

Mr. Rue started his lighting design consulting career after gaining experience with noted Bay Area
designers and companies. As a member in good standing of Illuminating Engineering Society of
North America since 1992 and AIA (Assoc.), he offers the highest quality services employing state-
of-the-art lighting technologies. Through the use of extensive engineering and artistic lighting
design expertise, creative custom lumiaire design skills and a wide range of lighting products, he
has enhanced the attractiveness and value of a variety of architectural projects. He received
Thunen Scholarships and the Recognition of Achievements from IESNA in the lighting industry. He
teaches architectural lighting design and lighting techniques in FIDM, San Francisco campus. He
also taught lighting design in Academy of Art University and UC Berkeley Extension.

Mr. Rue’s experience includes large commercial projects such as Ameristar Casinos land and river
facilities, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Hollywood Casino Boat, Aurora, Ohio, Villa Florence Hotel, San
Francisco, International Airport, Miami, Florida and San Anselmo City Council, San Anselmo,
California. Office projects include Applied Materials, Santa Clara, CA, PMI (insurance), Walnut
Creek, CA, and retail projects in casinos, Hollywood Gift Shop, LA. Restaurants include Feng Nian
Chinese Cuisine, Sausalito, CA and Foghorn Bar and Grill, San Francisco. His specialty is high end
residential projects in the Bay Area.
